best chromebook labtop 2022

              lenovo flex 5 chromebook

know what that is anyway what's exciting
about this is it has an AMD processor inside well a couple of years ago that wouldn't be an exciting thing but now with the latest Zen to architecture inside this thing is really gonna perform nicely compared to Intel and beyond that going back to the actual laptop itself for a really good price around 769 you can get a pretty
nicely configured model is a full HD
display supports touch and pen and the Pens in the box for the one at that price you get a risin 5 4500 you which competes with the Core i5 and Intel's land but performs a little bit better and you get 16 Kings around and then 256 gig nvme SSD nice we're gonna look at it now I know a shout-out to our sponsor keeper security keeping youth safe on the net and everywhere else is the idea so basically they are a password manager on steroids with additional features and the nice thing about keeper is its multi-platform so you can use it on
Android and iOS and on Windows and Mac
and yes it's a native Mac client you can also access via a web browser so that's pretty nice so you've got your usual secure password manager with syncing if you go for the unlimited version across multiple devices yay then and also they have a couple of other interesting features like offline storage so you want to keep a photo of your passport or something like that safe and on your device and not on the cloud or anywhere else you can do that they also have an add-on called breach watch so besides the fact that it's going to let you know if your passwords are weeny - easy and to figure out if you haven't changed
them forever it will actually look at on
the dark web and look to see if your
username and password combos have been
in the leaks so you know you ought to change those right away because you know how small companies can be to let you know about that be sure to visit the link in the description and use our promo code to save 20% on personal and family edition
and also in any add-ons like breach
watch and now back to our video so this
is a 14 inch convertible laptop for
those who find things like the high end
yoga laptops too expensive but you like
a lot of what Lenovo
is doing here you get a backlit keyboard
a Microsoft precision trackpad the
combination of plastic on the lid and
ABS plastic on the bottom for this price
that's pretty fair again for the
well-appointed mild that we're looking
at its 769 you can spend a little bit
less and get only a king's around and
all that sort of thing you know how that 10
kind of rolls but if you want to spend a little more on that you can order it with a 512 gig m2 SSD it's also an
upgradable SSD so you can upgrade it
yourself unlike the RAM which is
soldered on like most ultrabooks these
days so the rise in part let's talk
about that for a little bit so and what
a difference a year makes right several
years ago and these mobile CPUs just ran
hot the battery life was terrible and then last year they got better at least they didn't run hot in the battery life
wasn't terrible but the performance
wasn't really there versus the Intel
CPUs witnessed the surface laptop three
for example available with both Intel and AMD CPUs we reviewed them both and boy there was a difference in performance there so this year with the rise in 540 500 and there's a rise in
seven 4700 you when she is he my guess
competes with the core i7 and Rison v competes with the core I'm fine well the performance is here folks and so is the battery life and the thermals on this are quite good in fact a little bit better than we usually see from
Intel which means the CPU core
temperatures are actually running about
5 degrees centigrade cooler compared to
Intel all very good stuff here from the benchmark so you can see at benchmarks very well the real-life performance is very responsive so spring and for those who are thinking conspiracy theories and all that why we didn't review them
sooner it's all because of koban folks
PR departments are paired down and
working from home we're just getting
reviewing and it's in more slowly of
course we'll be getting more in so we
can look at more AMD systems this year
yeah that so back to the laptop itself
the full HD IPS display supports touch
and the included with our version pen
there might be versions that are less
expensive where you have to pay extra
for the pan it's like $35 and it's what
Lenovo usually use this which is wakame
yes and I like that a little bit better
than the intrigue technology that HP
is in the competing Envy x-360 line
if you look at this display you'd say oh
that's pretty nice you probably might
even think it's a hundred percent of
srgb like you might see on a thousand
dollar laptops or sometimes even $900
laptops but the metrics aren't actually there could it surprising the contrast
is great on but the color gamut on this
is kind of a weak sauce with me you can see the values on screen but if you're
not doing this as a pro who's doing
photo and video editing and all that
sort of thing it's not that bad I would
have liked to see Lenovo step up the
game a little bit but then again this
product starts around five hundred and
sixty dollars in the cheapest
configuration so they can't throw to
high-end parts in there so look forgive
them that anyway not bad to look at but not something for you Pro photo video
editors and display quality mavens out
there it's three point three pounds
which is 1.5 kilograms and twenty point
nine millimeter six not the lightest but not inordinately heavy again for the
price that's fair what you're paying for
when you buy a more expensive ultrabook generally speaking is lighter weight and
thinner materials and all that sort of
thing in terms of build and fit and
finish it feels durable enough and feel
strong and there's no seams or ugliness or anything like that on it it's not bad
looking it's not fantastic looking it's
available in the darker gray that we
have and a platinum gray as well I'm
leaving up to use to which you like
better
the laptop is a USB C port which is also used for charging now in this price
range you don't usually see Thunderbolt
three anyway but that's like still a got you with AMD's platform because well
Intel developed Thunderbolt 3 and now
it's available to everybody to use but
it's gonna take some time
so typically with AMD laptops right now
we're not gonna see Thunderbolt 3 you
also get two USB a a full sized SD card saw an HDMI and of course an audio jack so connectivity for a 14 inch
convertible that's pretty decent in
terms of heating noise like I said the processor is doing really well here this is a pretty good sized fan on it but you don't really hear it very much and this
is seven nanometer CPU press it also
because that's tiny and intel has been
struggling just to get down to 10 from
14 let alone going down to 7 means more power efficiency generally better heat and all this or anything so this is not gonna drained you with heat or with
noise now if you're pushing it like
really really hard annoying you know
4k video editing or something like that
then it will get
toastier and a little louder but everyday use not so much it has to watt speakers with Dolby Atmos branding on board and they're pretty decent they're pretty loud to have some bass for the price they're actually not bad and they're up firing that down firing so that helps a little bit with a
convertible always seen multiple
positions and all that sort of things but it's always a challenge with convertibles it's always going to be
some position where doesn't sounds good
the pen is 4096 pressure levels and it's wakame yes technology which is pretty darn good it's not locking me amore it's not professional or it's grade but I like it pretty well it's pretty good palm rejection the diagonal lines there okay a little jittery and all that sort of thing but still you can have some fun doing art on this
